                                   Basics Classes

If you have ever walked into a martial arts class and felt daunted by all the students performing gymnastic type movements while you are not sure how to tie your belt then this is the class for you.  This class is held once a week and is focussed on preparing you for your first grading.   

 

 

 Items that will be covered are as follows:

  • Basic etiquette - inluding bowing, belt tying and basic Japanese
  • Rolling and Breakfalling - starting off slow you will learn how to land on the ground without injury
  • Striking and Blocking Techniques - basic punching, kicking, and parts of the body that can be used for striking
  • Stances - basic body postures
  • Basic directions of moving the body in responding to various attacks
  • Sanshin and Kihon Happo - which are the core techniques of the Bujinkan
  • Theory - covering the nine schools of the Bujinkan and history
  • Basic weapons including the Hanbo (short stick) and Sword
